Tip: Stop Amazon Music HD Streaming Interruptions
|Onkyo PR-RZ5100 has network capability and Amazon app for Music Unlimited HD|
Amazon's Music HD subscription offers CD and above quality while streaming at 24-bit/192kHz encoding. If your device offers an app to access Amazon's Music subscription service then here's a tip when experiencing network disconnects. I decided to check what channels are in use around my house. On Windows-based PCs, you can see what channels neighboring WiFi networks are using. From the command prompt type netsh wlan show all, and you'll see a list of all wireless networks and the channels being used in your vicinity.
Go to your Windows Start Menu >> Type CMD >> and at the command prompt type netsh wlan show all. Now we can view the various channels in use by our neighbors etc. Let's snoop!
In my case channel 11 doesn't appear to be in use by my neighbors so I'm going to try that for my 2.4 Ghz network. For the 5 Ghz network I'm trying 156.
To change which channel your network is broadcasting you'll have to log in to your router and access the Wifi wireless setup. Here you can view my channel selection, and oh, I named my Wifi network "Surveillance Van" just to keep the neighbors looking out the windows at whatever vehicles might be parked in front on the street.
This tip isn't guaranteed to solve your issues but it's worth checking out. See if this tip provides a better signal and faster speeds especially over the Automatic setting. Keep in mind that channel congestion can change over time, so if you choose a channel manually, you may want to check in once in a while to make sure it's still the best one.
